Course Objectives:

 

Following completion of this course the learner will be able to describe the:

 

a.       History and legislation related to the Cooperative Extension Service and agricultural education.

b.      Scope, function and role of the Cooperative Extension Service and agricultural education in Florida and the U.S.

c.       Organization and funding for the Cooperative Extension Service and agribusiness and natural resource education in Florida.

d.      Teaching - learning process as it relates to formal/nonformal education and youth/adult education.

e.       Process of change and how it is brought about through Extension and in the local school program.

f.        Program areas of the Cooperative Extension Service and components of agricultural education.

g.       How the community and a public relations program affects the success of your program.

h.       Utilization of volunteers in programming.

i.         Process of building collaboration relationship between agricultural education and extension.

j.        Contemporary issues and trends in agricultural education and the Cooperative Extension Service.

k.      Program development and evaluation process in agricultural education and the Cooperative Extension Service.

l.         Career opportunities and preparation for the extension service and agricultural education.

            m.  Describe collegiate level youth leadership activities and events.

Software Use

All faculty, staff, and students of the University of Florida are required and expected to obey the laws and legal agreements governing software use.  Failure to do so can lead to monetary damages and / or criminal penalties for the individual violator.  Because such violations are also against University rules and policies, disciplinary action will be taken as appropriate.
